Whey protein is THE MOST POPULAR form of protein available. It comes from milk and is a by-product of the cheese making process. This makes it processed to be able to be absorbed faster. Whey comes in various forms from concentrate taking 1-2hours to break down to aminos – right through to hydrolysed isolate that can be absorbed in as little as 15-20min. Concentrates are higher in growth factors but also higher in fat and carbs. Isolate is lower in lactose and lower in both carbs and fat, and usually another 10% higher in protein.
